Beast Crossing: Wild World is Nintendo'south DS sequel to the surprise striking Animal Crossing. This is the game that would become the basis for every post-obit game in the series, replacing the acme-down, grid-scrolling view with a front-facing, log-scrolling one, and adding a slew of new features that would become commonplace in later games (among other things, y'all finally take hair). Equally a result, it and later main-series entries provide a vastly different experience compared to the N64 and GameCube entries.

Some of these demand some elaboration.

Seeds

While they are popularly referred to as "seeds", the internal names for these items are usually garbled characters. They are not unused per se, equally the game uses them internally when creating the town layout. However, they are normally non obtainable outside of Activeness Replay cheats, and for good reason.

When dropped from the inventory, they unremarkably spawn a mural characteristic: a tree, a house, a construction...and even townspeople, depending on the nature of the seed. You need to enter then exit a firm to see the changes, which can't exist reversed once saved.

While used by many people only to customize their own boondocks layout, some used them during Wi-Fi visits in other players' towns to create game-breaking layouts that may trap players irreversibly...or worse, cause the game to crash past overloading the arrangement and rendering the game useless if it crashes on the championship screen (as the Erase File option can't exist accessed).

Paint Cans

Nook does sell these, just the paint goes straight to your roof without ever touching your inventory. Strangely, they're constitute in the player's guide.

Beehive

The beehive instantly disappears when it is dropped from the tree, rendering the detail unused. In Animal Crossing: New Leafage and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this can exist obtained normally.

Sold Out Sign

Four-Leaf Clover

Acww clover.png Though information technology's used when the role player picks it up at random from clovers, the singular item itself will exist replanted as clovers. It is nether special items simply cannot exist worn past the player. It was later used in Brute Crossing: New Leaf.

Paper-thin Boxes

Comes in sets of 2, 4, and 5. While the items themselves are unused, their graphics are used for neighbors moving in or out. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they became available as items.

Various unused deject graphics can be found in the sky directory, labeled as "conditions examination". They are probable leftovers from an earlier build, and can exist seen in the screenshot on the left.

Located with used textbox graphics are boxes containing "MES 1", "MES ii", "MESSEAGE", and "01234567890123456789".

Three tilesets presumably used for testing messages sent while playing with others. They only differ in the graphics shown at the top—Japanese text and a Bell bag in the first, camera controls in the 2d, and time, fish, and bug symbols in the 3rd.

The normal main inventory menu, with text written where the town and thespian names would unremarkably announced. The text translates to "Ninten Village" and "Matsushima", the latter of which very likely refers to Yoshihiro Matsushima (who is credited as the game's UI Designer). This appears to be in its final form in comparison to the earlier images.

With the animal villagers' models is an animation titled "ta_test" that quickly cycles through all of their emotion textures.

Windows Shortcut

/bg/a0/0001.arc/a/bcl/ contains a Windows shortcut (.lnk) file called "bcl へのショートカット.lnk". With a tool like LECmd, you can go some interesting information from this file. However information technology does not seem to support Shift-JIS, and then the below printout has been corrected to correct mojibake. "bcl へのショートカット" translates to "Shortcut to bcl" and "ネットワーク全体" translates to "entire network". You can download the .arc file here.

Crash Debugger

To access the crash dump screen, first crash the game. Then, hold L + R + A + Left, allow go, concord Down + B, allow go, and finally hold Beginning + Select. This screen likewise exists in Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros.

Gulliver'due south UFO Glitch

The Mini Mustache accessory item is altered in the European release of the game from a toothbrush mustache to a pencil mustache. This is most likely due to the old way's association with German language dictator Adolf Hitler.

Shoji Screen and Tatami Floor

Also in the European release, the Shoji Screen wallpaper detail and the Tatami Floor flooring detail are changed to the Basement Wall and Basement Floor, respectively, from the original Animate being Crossing. Despite this, they're yet referred to as the Shoji Screen and Tatami Floor.

Virtual Console Changes

When Brute Crossing: Wild Earth got a digital re-release on the Wii U, the actor cannot visit other towns, making the Katie Set or the Mario Series unobtainable without hacking. (By contrast, Nookington'southward and Shampoodle can still be unlocked in the Virtual Console version by spending the required amount of money without the demand of another actor.) This has become a trouble for most players of the DS version, as players who only have one Wild World cartridge can't, of class, have another i nearby. The only way to get these at present, excluding the Mario Series and Katie Series, is to apply local (aforementioned-room) advice or one of the Nintendo WFC alternatives (Wiimmfi). This problem was fixed in the next game, where the player doesn't demand a friend to shop.

Also, in the side by side game and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players can simply get Mario Series items by shooting down balloon presents. In New Horizons, however, all the Mario Series items from the previous games were made available through a March 2021 update for the Super Mario Bros. 35th Ceremony, along with some new items and key differences; for example, the ? Blocks are now in midair instead of on the floor, and they're ordered via the catalog instead of through balloon presents.
